The role of the media in sport

The sport is one of the topics well-published on the Web. Sport topics gain much publicity and discussion in the media. Examples are numerous: thousands of reportage of football instructors reactions representing a specific event. Important football games are an everyday problem in television channels. New technologies are used worldwide in the coverage of sports: tennis video streaming presents individual strokes of tennis stars advantaged, such as Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova. In the days of serious games, fans enjoy watching the game from their favorite teams in tennis or football online. We could ask ourselves: what is the role of the media plays in sport?

A likely response would be that the media exploits successfully the public need for entertainment. People have always felt the need to be entertaining, from the days of gladiatorial combat, when the public ' overall demand was to see people die in front of them for their money. The years passed, the forms of entertainment changed and became less cruel, but the principle of the crowd asking Panem et circenses (i.e., "bread and circuses") remains the same. In this case, sports news are the best possible show and see online or on TV sport is the best way possible to witness the event from the real.

And here comes the following possible response: media adheres to the needs of the public wide, complying with the desire to see "real" on-line. Although a football match can occur in Milan, and game of tennis can take place in Moscow, media brings the game of tennis and football straight to your living room, without getting up from the couch and buy the ticket to Milano or where you want to get. Media makes use of our need to witness of reality to serve as a mediator between the sporting event that happens somewhere out there and we, the viewers.

Be a central part of our everyday experience, media brings sports coverage in our living room and show us always we choose. I would say that it is a good thing, but that - choose yourselves.
